Nominate your pharmacist!

The Alzheimer's Association and Eisai Inc. call on people with Alzheimer's disease and caregivers across America to nominate local pharmacists for the 2009 C.A.R.E. (Commitment to Alzheimer's. Recognition of Excellence.) Pharmacy Award. The award recognizes the vital role that pharmacists play in helping as many as 5.3 million Americans living with Alzheimer's disease and their 10 million caregivers.

How to nominate a pharmacist

People with Alzheimer's and caregivers can nominate pharmacists through September 2009. To be eligible, nominees must be licensed pharmacists involved in activities within the last year that have helped people with Alzheimer's disease, and these activities must have had a positive effect on individuals and/or their families. A full description of the award and nomination criteria can be found at www.carepharmacyaward.com. The winner will be announced in November 2009.

Make a difference in the community where you live

If the pharmacist you nominate wins the award, the Alzheimer's Association chapter serving your area will receive a donation. Another donation will go to a chapter in the area that receives the most nominations. These donations will help support resources we provide to people with dementia and their caregivers living in your community.

Selection process

The winning pharmacist will be selected from the nominee pool by a panel of three judges. One judge is a director at the Alzheimer's Association's national office. The other two judges are past winners of this award. Each has spent more than 20 years improving the care of people with Alzheimer's disease through educational, advocacy and caregiver support programs.
